Third Way Center's White Tigers Basketball Team competes in the 10th annual Court of Dreams Basketball Tournament

The White Tigers, Joan Farley Academy’s (JFA) basketball team, are competing in the 10th annual Court of Dreams Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, February 27 at Denver’s Pepsi Center.

The Court of Dreams Basketball Tournament is an incredible opportunity for the White Tigers, as they get to experience what it is like to play on an NBA court, while also experiencing full access to the professional arena amenities.

Many of the residents at Third Way Center have not been able to play organized sports due to their family lives, school problems, and lack of access to activities that are a part of normal adolescent life.

The benefit of the basketball team is invaluable, explains Andrew Lambertson, the White Tigers coach, “the value of learning to be part of a team that is greater than the individual and accepting and developing one’s role within that team is an invaluable experience and life asset for our residents.” The lessons that you learn while on a team can benefit a person greatly as “they learn how to invest in something that provides them with the opportunity to overcome adversity and fear, develop confidence, and see the value of delayed gratification and goal setting,” explains Andrew.

Third Way Center is excited to cheer on the White Tigers on February 27 and tournaments and games to come throughout the year.
