Welcome to our second look into “Behind the Desk.” This month we want to introduce you to Jan Hubert. Jan began working at Third Way Center in June of 2013 as the Chief Development Officer. Her job is to spread the word about TWC and encourage people to invest in our work and our kids.
Jan grew up in western Michigan and traded those Great Lakes for a great life near the mountains. She lives with her 17 year old son and two furry family members – Ariel, a silky Terrier and Dyson (he came with that name), a Yorkie mix. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, running, seeing movies and hanging out with her son.
Access to mental health care has always been an area of interest for Jan. “Mental health and physical health are so intertwined and we need to do a better job of providing care to those who need it. Third Way Center provides a unique program to hundreds of young people and I believe the work we do is significant.”
Jan encourages those who are looking for ways to give back to become involved with the work at Third Way Center because the young people in our program have been through very difficult times. Helping them build better lives is a very worthwhile investment.
One of Jan’s favorite quotes is by John Kennedy: “For those to whom much is given, much is required.” She believes we have a responsibility to help people who haven’t had the advantages we do.
Thank you to Jan and her great team for spreading the word about the work of Third Way Center.
