Amy Thomas, MA Educational Coordinator- Joan Farley Academy
Amy Thomas began her career in education as a teaching assistant at a residential treatment center for youth in Lakewood, CO in 2006 and returned to school to obtain her teaching license in Special Education. Amy has been a Special Education Teacher for 10 years and began with Third Way Center in 2010 at JFA Lowry, working as a Special Education Teacher and the Assistant Educational Coordinator. She also spent a year as a relief Mental Health Counselor at Lowry, York and Lincoln while completing an internship with Denver Public Schools to earn her MA in School Counseling in 2016. Amy worked as a Professional School Counselor with Denver Public Schools over the past year and a half and returned to Third Way Center in 2017 to be the Educational Coordinator at JFA. Amy holds a BA in Psychology, MA in School Counseling, a Colorado Teaching License and a Colorado Special Services Provider License; she is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Amy is a Colorado native and enjoys being outdoors, gardening, and watching movies with her family or reading a good book!
