Residential Programs
Third Way Center operates five residential treatment centers. We serve approximately 80 youth,
co-ed, ages 14 -20.
-
We have Denver's only
licensed residential treatment center for teen mothers and a National HUD
Model treatment program for emancipating teens.
-
We graduate more than 60
youth per year from our accredited, alternative high school and many of our
teens go onto college.
-
Pontiac and York St.
Facilities are community based, residential treatment centers housing 16
residents each.
-
The Teen Mother program is also a community
based, residential treatment program, which houses up to 12 teen moms with their
babies.
-
The Lincoln Ave. program is an independent living apartment building
housing 22 residents and up to four infants who transition from our other
programs and from our teen mother program.
-
The Next Steps program provides a step-down, scattered site apartment program
with wrap-around services to facilitate successful emancipation.
All
programs are licensed as TRCCFs and have multidisciplinary team members who
are present 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our residents take ownership of
their houses and are taught to care for themselves in every area: personal
hygiene; household maintenance and cleaning; laundry and ironing; grocery
shopping; menu planning and cooking. Third Way hires no janitors, maids or
cooks. Our clients also learn budgeting, money management and banking. The
Center helps residents seek and retain employment, and each teen must deposit 80
percent of his or her earned income into a joint-signature savings account to be
used for independent living expenses.
