Education —
Third Way Center operates three state approved alternative high school programs. All schools are facilitated by masters level teachers and professional mental health staff. Small class sizes and individualized instruction can increase a student’s performance by two or more grade levels in just a few short months. In addition to core courses there are many opportunities for electives, community service, curriculum based trips to other states and team sports.
The Joan Farley Academy at the KW Brill Center in Denver
The late Joan Farley, one of our first social workers at Third Way Center, was instrumental in forming the first Third Way Center school. The Joan Farley Academy (JFA) is housed at the KW Brill Center and is a hub of activity. Our administrative offices are across the street.
Our school programs (both JFA and our Lowry site-based school) provide small classrooms, masters level, certified special education teachers, core courses, elective courses, service learning opportunities, athletic programs and community events.
Every year more than 40 youth graduate with high school diplomas from our state-approved educational programs.
The Joan Farley Academy is our main school. Up to 60 students can attend from our various residential programs. For more information about JFA, contact Lisa Baylon, Principal: .
Lowry
The Lowry Campus has its own site-based school on the premises and can serve up to 32 youth. For more information about the Lowry school, contact Laurie McConnell, Principal: .
