Mental Health Counselor (Denver Metro)

Compensation: $15.10 with Bachelors Degree & Full Benefit

Third Way Center is seeking full time mental health counselors to work as members of a multidisciplinary treatment team at one of our residential facilities working with high risk youth ages 13-20. We are looking for a creative and dynamic set of people who like to be challenged and seek to learn and better themselves professionally and personally. Our mission is to provide a continuum of services in a home-like environment where at-risk youth can work through their traumas, learn to take responsibility for their actions and lives to become productive members of society.

Our MHC's are active members of the treatment team that carry out our programmatic goals as well as work with the youth on their own treatment goals. Responsibilities are
*Milieu management including counseling and crisis intervention when needed.
* Knowledge of the histories and plans for all youth in order to give individualized care.
*Teaching different skills based on their current abilities in order to enhance their opportunity for normalization and self determination.
*Ability to work as a team and take direction utilizing resident's treatment plans is a must.

Benefits: We have a generous vacation package where you accrue two weeks of vacation and six days of personal time in your first year and you receive an additional paid week off at your second year and fourth year anniversaries. This position comes with full benefits including medical, health, dental, vision, flex, accident, and disability options. As your employer we pay 72.5% of your premiums for health and dental for the first five years and increases to 90% after your fifth anniversary. We also want to invest in your growth professionally as well as your health and offer a staff gym that you can use at your leisure that has a locker room and shower!

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in social work or related field. Can substitute two years of experience for educational requirements. The candidate must also possess a current valid Colorado driver's license, have a clean driving (no DUI/DWAI in the last five years) and criminal record, be at least 22 years of age and have the ability to obtain QMAP, and CPR/First Aid certification. Additionally, the candidate must pass an extensive background and DMV check as well as the Diana Screen. We follow Federal Drug Screening laws.

Schedule: We are residential treatment and thus are open 24/7/365. Schedules include evening and weekend hours.

Special Education Teacher

Third Way Center's Joan Farley Academy  is looking for a full time credentialed CDE Special Education Teacher to work as a member of our team working with our high risk youth ages 13-20.  We are looking for a creative and dynamic set of people who like to be challenged and seek to learn and better themselves professionally and personally.  Strong classroom management skills needed. The teacher will be required to maintain high expectations for student achievement in an alternative high school setting. Our mission is to provide a continuum of services where at-risk youth can work through their traumas and learn to take responsibility for their actions and lives to become productive members of society.

 Our teachers are active members of the school and treatment team that carry out our programmatic goals as well as work with the youth on their own educational goals. Responsibilities are:

  • classroom management including counseling and crisis intervention when needed
  • knowledge of the histories and IEP's for all youth in order to give individualized care
  • teaching the youth different skills based on their current abilities in order to enhance their
  • opportunity for normalization and self determination
  • ability to work as a team and take direction utilizing student's needs is a must.
  • complete IEPs and run IEP meetings for homeroom students

Requirements:

Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study related to the work assignment, along with a valid Colorado Initial or Professional Secondary Teacher license with an endorsement in SPED from CDE. The candidate must also possess a current valid Colorado driver's license, have a clean driving record(no DUI/DWAI in the last five years) and criminal record, be at least 22 years of age and be able to obtain QMAP, and CPR/First Aid certification. Additionally, the candidate must pass an extensive background and DMV check as well as the Diana Screen. We follow Federal Drug Screening laws.

Salary range $40K - $41,500.

Substitute Teacher

Third Way Center's Joan Farley Academy at Lowry is looking for a credentialed Special Education Substitute Teacher. Strong classroom management skills needed. The teacher will be expected to maintain high expectations for student achievement in an alternative high school setting. Experience in residential treatment and/or at risk youth a plus.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study related to the work assignment along with a valid Colorado Department of Education Substitute Teaching License. Must be able to pass an extensive background check including DMV records as well as the Diana Screen.
