About Our Clients

Our clients and their families have long-standing psychiatric, psychological, and behavioral problems. Many of our clients have been sexually abused, physically abused, neglected and abandoned. They have acted out through criminal behavior, substance abuse, school problems, running away, and general oppositional and noncompliant behavior. The majority of our residents suffer from severe mental illness. We also have a program for sexual perpetrators.

Most of our clients have been in numerous placements before coming to Third Way Center. In most cases, they are wards of the state and have been taken from their homes of origin, due to neglect and abuse. Many of our children have been in 30 to 50 placements before coming to Third Way Center and it is our hope that this will be their last placement and that we will emancipate them successfully into the community without further upheaval, rejection and chaos in their lives.
